Resources List

Family Justice Center

https://www.sacramentofjc.org/

Family Justice Center (FJC) is a multi-disciplinary service center that provides "one-stop" support for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse, and human trafficking. By co-locating professionals from various fields—such as law enforcement, victim advocates, legal aid, medical professionals, and social services—FJCs eliminate the need for survivors to travel to multiple locations to tell their stories repeatedly. This collaborative model focuses on reducing trauma, increasing victim safety, and streamlining the path to justice and healing under a single roof.

WEAVE

https://www.weaveinc.org/

WEAVE (originally an acronym for Women Escaping a Violent Environment) is the primary provider of crisis intervention services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Sacramento County. As a non-profit organization, WEAVE offers a comprehensive range of support, including a 24-hour crisis line, emergency shelters, transitional housing, and legal advocacy. Their mission is to promote safe and healthy relationships through survivor-centered, trauma-informed care while working to build a community that does not tolerate violence or abuse.

YWCA

 https://www.ywcaccc.org/sacramento

The YWCA (Young Women's Christian Association) is a global movement dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. In the context of crisis services, the YWCA is one of the largest providers of domestic violence shelters and sexual assault support services in the United States. While their specific offerings vary by location—ranging from affordable transitional housing and childcare to legal advocacy and racial justice programming—their core mission remains focused on the intersection of gender equity and social justice, ensuring that women and families have the resources to thrive in safety.

NorCal Resist

 https://www.norcalresist.org/contact.html

NorCal Resist is a grassroots, volunteer-led organization in the Sacramento area that provides mutual aid and direct support to marginalized communities, specifically focusing on immigrant and refugee families. Unlike traditional non-profits, they operate through a solidarity-based model, offering services like an ICE rapid-response hotline, accompaniment to immigration court, and bond funds for those in detention. For women in abusive situations, an undocumented or precarious immigration status often acts as a powerful tool of coercion, as abusers may threaten deportation or family separation to silence them and prevent them from seeking help from law enforcement.
